NCIS Grants and Awards Committee Chair and Member
I served as chair of the Grants and Awards Committee of the National Coalition Independent Scholars for
2010 and 2011. My responsibilities consisted of selecting the remaining members of the committee, publicizing
the awards on the H-NET and H-SCHOLAR listserves, assembling eligible applications and supervising
the selection process. Previously, I served on that committee for two years as a member.
Publication Summary
I am the original creator of the Wikipedia entry on the History of logic. This entry soon became the top website on this topic, even before Wikipedia achieved its present status. The article focused on the independent logical traditions of Greece, India and China. From 2002-2004 the article stood with only minor edits and additions. It has now been greatly expanded with respect to the later Western tradition, but some of my language still remains, especially with regard to the original themes.
